Prototype delayed to 2009

Were you getting hyped for the New York City Blow-em-up Prototype? Well, I come bearing some bad news. According to Gamespot, Prototype has been pushed into the dark abyss of 2009.

The game was looking sweet to me but, at closer glances the game seemed like it needed to be cooked a bit more in the development oven.

Here is the official statement from a “representative” of Radical Games..

“Since its announcement, Prototype has been regarded by many as groundbreaking and taking the open-world genre in new directions, and in the simplest explanation possible, we need more time to deliver the game the team initially set out to create,”

Maybe the game is going into new directions(for open world games) but, who called it groundbreaking? Eh, Whatever.

In other news… Who saw Iron Man? Just witnessed the awesomeness tonight. Now, I just need that Avengers movie.

  1. I’d bet this has something to do with Activision bailing on E3. Why show up without your biggest new IP? Leaving the ESA all together is a whole other matter. After all, Sierra is under the Activison umbrella now.

  2. First MP gone, now a delay.
Better be one hell of a SP game.
