Next Square Enix Final Fantasy MMO 360 bound

In a Interview with RPGamer Square Enix’s PR team, Sonia Im, Manager; Charlie Sinhaseni, Assistant Manager; Amelia Cantlay, Senior Associate; and Klee Kuo, Associate, had this to say about continued support of the Xbox 360 in general:

I know you can’t tell us when Final Fantasy XIII is coming or whether it’s going to go multiplatform, but maybe we can ask something you can answer. Are there any plans for more Xbox 360 support other than what has been announced?

Charlie: Well, we have already stated that the next Final Fantasy MMO will be for the 360 and Vista. That, along with continued support for Final Fantasy XI such as Wings of the Goddess, show that we will be working with the 360 quite a bit. Don’t forget Project Silpheed and Last Remnant.

While it is known that the Last Remnant is on it’s way in the future with use of Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 and that Project Silpheed is also on it’s way this summer, the announcement of the next Final Fantasy MMO for the Xbox 360 and Windows Vista was not one of them. Whether or not this information was a slip up or not by PR, it still remains to be seen if the Xbox 360 really needs a Japanese RPG that’s not the main course that everyone is looking for that is Final Fantasy 13 proper.

Now that the next Final Fantasy MMO is coming to the 360, do you care if it’s not Final Fantasy 13?

  1. Simultaneous release would be mandatory in order for my friends and I to buy the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy 13; otherwise, we will publicly hear how the story ends, and we won’t want to buy the game. We do not have a Playstation 3 system, and we have no plans of buying one. If Square Enix wants our business, please release all versions of Final Fantasy 13 simultaneously for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
